Frankfurt - ers
One word describes Frankfurt quite well – sausages! We ate them everyday.
This week we were visiting the world’s largest book fair and there is no arguing with the fact that as first time visitors, we were overawed with the size of it. Think of the largest exhibition hall you’ve ever been to, then times it by at least 10.
But we weren’t there just eating sausages obviously, we had one of the most exciting projects to start telling people about. Anobii. ‘How do you solve the problem of book discovery online?’ they asked. ‘Try Anobii’ we replied. ‘How do you make reading social?’ they asked. ‘Try Anobii’ we replied.
We were proud to showcase the first cut of our Anobii 2.0 beta site, and it was lucky that we had this video prepared because the WiFi connection was painful.
We had some interesting meetings with representatives from Italy, Spain, Germany and the UK publishing industry, met some great people including blogger and fan of Anobii Luca Conti, we got some good coverage in the Frankfurt Fair Daily*, saw lots and lots of books, and flew back to London only to be offered a sausage based snack on the plane.
There’ll be no more sausages for a while, but we can never have enough books!
